The profile of Febris SCW

Profile icon

The Febris-SCW sensor was specially developed for mold prevention in residential buildings. It regularly measures temperature, relative humidity and surface temperature with maximum accuracy. If the limit values are exceeded, the sensor warns immediately, acoustically via a buzzer and visually via bright LEDs.

The recorded data is regularly transmitted via NB-IoT, LoRaWAN® or mioty® to enable efficient monitoring of rooms and buildings. The sensor is battery powered (4x AA), with easily replaceable batteries. A manual measurement can be triggered by a simple double-tap on the sensor.

Wall mounting is recommended for optimum results. High-quality sensor modules guarantee reliable measurements and effective protection against mold growth.

The Febris-SCW continuously measures the temperature and relative humidity to provide early warning of potential mold growth and to monitor the indoor climate optimally.

Temperature-compensated surface thermometer

In addition to air monitoring, the Febris-SCW measures the surface temperature in order to specifically monitor areas with a high risk of mold, such as walls or windows.

Acoustic and visual warnings

If the preset limit values are exceeded, the Febris-SCW gives an immediate acoustic warning and indicates the critical status via bright LEDs so that action can be taken quickly.

The Febris-SCW has been specially developed for mold prevention in residential buildings and construction projects and is perfect for use in apartments, houses or new buildings.

Properties

Visual feedback

The Febris sensor provides the user with direct visual feedback. The air quality is indicated and classified in the form of an LED traffic light system. This allows a direct reaction and the derivation of measures if necessary.

Replaceable batteries

The sensor has four replaceable standard AA batteries. This enables extra short measurement and transmission intervals with frequent replacement cycles. The sensor can be easily opened with a snap lock for replacement.

Provisioning over NFC

The sensor is activated via NFC and allows sensor and network-specific settings to be adapted to the respective application. The LinQs app is available in the App Store for Android and iOS.

Acoustic feedback

In addition to the LED traffic light system, the Febris sensor has acoustic feedback. A buzzer is integrated in the sensor for this purpose. This can be switched on or off via NFC. This means that users are also informed without having to constantly monitor the traffic light.

Power supply unit Supply

In addition to battery operation, the Febris can also be powered by a mains adapter. This enables greater application flexibility and even shorter measuring and transmission intervals. In this configuration, the battery holders are removed from the product.

Double Tap

A double tap on the Febris sensor triggers an immediate measurement. Whether the air quality has reached a critical level is indicated both by the LED traffic light and, in the case of critical room air, by an acoustic signal.

Mold causes considerable damage every year and poses a health risk. Tenants, landlords, homeowners, insurance companies and housing associations are all affected. Our IoT-based solution aims to proactively prevent mold growth in order to reduce costs, avoid conflicts and protect the health of residents.

How does our solution work?

Our sophisticated IoT mold sensor continuously records the temperature and relative humidity in your premises. The decisive factor here is the wall temperature:

Mold risk detection: by measuring the surface temperature of the walls in combination with humidity data, our system can calculate the dew point. This is the point at which condensation begins and there is therefore a risk of mold.

Example to illustrate: At a room temperature of 21°C and a relative humidity of 60%, the dew point is approx. 12.9°C. A wall temperature of 16°C would then lead to a relative humidity of around 82% on the wall - a clear indication of the risk of mold.
